Dr. John A. Crumpton graduated from Presbyterian College with a Bachelor's degree in Science – Biology in 1991. He continued his education at the Medical University of South Carolina where he graduated with a degree in Doctor of Dental Medicine in 1996. He completed a 3 year Prosthodontic Residency at the University of Alabama – Birmingham in 1999. Dr. Crumpton opened his practice in July 1999. He is an active member of the South Carolina Dental Association and the American College of Prosthodontics. Dr. Crumpton is also a member of American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine.
Dr. Crumpton has a passion for his patients and dentistry. A sports injury caused him to have broken teeth at a young impressionable age. That experience led him into the dental field and specifically to the area of prosthodontics. Dr. Crumpton’s wife of 20 years, Dr. Amanda Schmitt Crumpton, met while they were in school at UAB. They are the proud parents of 3 children. His 2 oldest children attend Clemson and his youngest is a junior in high school. Dr. Crumpton’s hobbies include attending Clemson football games with his family, hunting, fishing, and spending time on his farm. Dr. Crumpton is also an active member of Pickens First Baptist Church.
